RFS Guard – Sydney Airport (Protective Services

As a RFS (Request For Services) Security Guard, you will be a key player in maintaining secure access to restricted areas of Sydney Airport. Your role will involve enforcing aviation security protocols, supporting emergency responses, and working closely with airport stakeholders.

Please note: This majority of this role is night shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain access control at:

  • Sterile Area (LSZ)

  • Security Restricted Area (SRA)

  • Enhanced Inspection Area (EIA)

• Operate and monitor EIA vehicle and pedestrian entry gates

• Conduct access screening, search, and inspection tasks

• Ensure full compliance with:

  • Certis Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Sydney Airport Security Instructions

  • Applicable aviation legislation and regulations

• Support emergency procedures and incident response protocols

• Record accurate information, logs, and reports as required

• Work closely with stakeholders including:

  • Duty Security Manager

  • Security Operations Centre (SOC)

  • Ramp Supervisor and AOCC

Essential Requirements

• NSW Security Licence (incl. Enclosed Lands Act)
• Understanding of security operations and access control
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer literacy

Preferred:

• Experience in aviation, transport, or critical infrastructure security
• Familiarity with Sydney Airport security procedures
