Position Purpose
The Aviation Security Guard (ASG) assigned to access control duties is responsible for controlling access into the sterile area and Security Restricted Area (SRA) by airport staff and visitors at Sydney Airport in accordance with operational processes and procedures.
RFS ASG is the first point of contact for staff entering restricted areas of Sydney Airport, and therefore is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of operational procedure under his/her control. Critical to the role is the ability to nurture an engaging climate of communication and understanding whilst maintaining the highest levels of security.
Key Responsibilities
Overall Responsibilities
- Provide Security with Service in accordance with CERTIS policies and standard operating procedures, whilst achieving all security outcomes for the designated position.
- Perform functional duties in accordance with set standard operating procedures.
- Actively work with Security Performance Manager - Protective Services, Ramp Supervisor and Security 1, 2 & 3 to implement and maintain operational policies, processes and procedures.
- Maintain the security of assigned premises and property at Sydney Airport.
- Understand the “Inclosed Lands Protection Act 1901 (NSW)”.
Operate in accordance with (IAW):
- Operational site-specific procedures and processes,
- Site Security Instructions and SACL Security Standing Orders,
- CERTIS’s values and Behavioural Competency Frame Work
- Security Industry Award,
- Maintain dress standards as per CERTIS Aviation Divisional Standing Order
- Ensure compliance with CERTIS & SYDAIR WHS policies and procedures.

Qualification
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- NSW Security Industry Licence 1A
- Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- NSW Driver’s Licence Class C
- White Card
