Position Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Manager Maritime Services, the Client Venue Manager (CVM) will be responsible for client services of the Port Authority of NSW. The CVM maintains existing business in the manner to which they ensure Events service delivery is delivered without delay and or compromise. The CEM will help Certis clients to better understand the full potential of Certis Events services / products and act as liaison between the client and the Certis customer service experience. The CVM is also responsible for collaborating with PANSW Events team, Their prospective customers, and the CERTIS event security teams, to improve Event service delivery programs and enhance customer satisfaction.
The Venue Manager is responsible for ensuring OEMP (Operational Event Management Plan) compliance on event days, in accordance with their contractual arrangements with the CERTIS security and its clients. This also involves facilitating Events Teams and patrons' compliance with the OEMP, as required.

Key Responsibilities
- To act as the primary contact during events and facilitate liaisons between PANSW, their clients, and the security team on site.
- Provide regular updates to CERTIS and PANSW on the progress of event service delivery that directly affects each client.
- Implement specific control measures contained in this OEMP that fall under the responsibility of their contract.
- Escalate to the Property Manager any non-compliance with this OEMP.
- Develop a Contractor’s EMP (if required under their contract) in accordance with any site specifications under their individual contracts and the requirements of this OEMP.
- Ensure that all staff involved in managing the function are aware of environmental responsibilities and obligations and have received environmental training in accordance with this OEMP.
- Monitor adherence of sub-contractors to this OEMP and recommend required changes to the operator.
- When required and requested by the client, consult with the Council, State Agencies and the community as may be required by the OEMP.
- Ensure that any Contractors engaged in works at the Event site (for example, temporary structure construction and waste disposal contractors) are appropriately licensed and aware of their environmental responsibilities.
- Ensuring all Security-related issues and matters are escalated to the security team and addressed by the allocated security-licensed team leader.

- Site Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure only revolving doors are used during events to contain noise within the venue and prevent noise complaints.
- Open all gates on James Craig Rd/Sommerville Road for easy access.
- Conduct a thorough venue walkthrough to identify and address any OH&S issues, including loose cables and blocked fire exits, and ensure all equipment is up to date with safety checks.
- Ensure the security event team keeps the loading dock gate and doors open during bump-in for vehicles.
- Coordinate with the client on the use of hazers and isolate the fire panel as necessary, with a maximum isolation time of 10 hours, and inform all staff and security on site. (must attend all emergency fire training and be signed off on the correct isolation procedures).
- Set venue wharf auto doors as per client's preference and ensure proper setup with the caterers, cleaners, and security event team, including positioning of bins and fire safety measures in the kitchen.
- Manage event noise levels diligently, using a dB meter to ensure noise does not exceed 67db at 10 meters from speakers and conducting external checks from the car park, rock wall roadside, and GRAFTON STREET to ensure the event is not audible from these locations
- Start arranging taxis from 8.30pm to ensure guests leave promptly without lingering in the car park, adhering to the venue DA documents that stipulate events must finish by 23:30hrs with a 30-minute window to clear all guests.
- Conduct post-event checks including bathroom inspections, a final walk-through of the venue, wharf, car park to ensure no guests are left on site, and oversee the bump-out process until all crew have left.
- Remain on site for the entire event as required by the Venue DA, and coordinate a post-event handover with the Port Authority Event Manager, including assessing cleaning and any damages for bond deduction purposes.
- Communicate any damages to the client immediately with photographic evidence and liaise with the Port Authority for invoicing and bond deductions.
Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in The Event space.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
Qualification
Mandatory
- Drivers Licence.
- RSA & First Aid
- Police Criminal History Check.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Security Industry’s legislation and guidelines.
