Position Purpose

Join Certis Australia as a Control Room Operator at Department of Education (DoE), Blacktown, NSW. 

The Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and managing security systems to ensure the safety and integrity of Department of Education sites in Parramatta. This role plays a critical part in incident response, system oversight, and communication with on-site personnel, contributing to a safe and secure environment.

An exciting new opportunity has become available, we are seeking an experienced and licensed Control Room Operator. You will be employed at Department of Education (DoE) Control Room in Blacktown on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems in real-time to identify and respond to incidents promptly.
  • Dispatch alarm responses to local security teams and or law enforcement
  • Liaise with on-ground security personnel to coordinate responses and ensure the safety of customers, staff, and assets.
  • Complete all computerised logs and incident reports, ensuring that all relevant information is relayed to the appropriate persons
  • Identify and prevent illegal and/or inappropriate behaviour, which has the potential to alarm or heighten the risk to members of the general public

Qualification

  • Current Security Licence + Monitoring Subclass (1E)
  • Certificate II Security Operations
  • Microsoft Office training (desirable)

Experience

  • Previous experience with CCTV and Alarm Monitoring systems will be highly regarded
  • Ability and experience writing detailed incident reports
  • Experience using access control systems will be advantageous
  • Experience working in corporate environment
  • Experience working in a team environment
