Maritime Security Gatehouse Officer

Position Purpose

To carry out Gatehouse Security duties (MSG Level 3) on a casual basis.

Your key responsibility is to maintain the safety, integrity, and security of designated maritime zones. You’ll work within strict compliance of MTOFSA regulations, approved Maritime Security Plans, and Traffic Management Protocols.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control access to maritime zones (vehicles and personnel)

  • Verify contractor induction cards and Maritime Security Identification Cards (MSICs)

  • Maintain records: sign-in/out logs, incident reports, and daily communication diaries

  • Conduct regular patrols across gates, buildings, and site perimeters

  • Monitor CCTV, fire and access control systems; respond to alarms and onsite incidents

  • Support emergency situations, including First Aid response when required

  • Perform Gatehouse duties including visitor management and surveillance support

  • Proactively prevent and report suspicious or unsafe activities

Qualification

  • Current QLD Security Licence 
  • Current Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
  • First Aid Certificate (Senior Level)
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
