Aviation Trainer

Position Purpose
The Aviation Trainer is responsible for the delivery and assessment of accredited training for Aviation Screening Officers.
This is a permanent full-time position based at Adelaide Airport.

Key Responsibilities
Training and Assessment
- Plan, prepare and deliver learning and assessments in a variety of learning environments according to program guidelines.
- Use a variety of delivery methods that accommodate the needs of adult learners and different learning styles.
- Deliver learning and assessments in a manner that is engaging, inclusive and demonstrates customer service behaviours.
- Conduct X-ray image interpretation training for Aviation Security Officers.
Administration
- Promptly and thoroughly complete all required student management tasks to ensure effective maintenance of student records.
- Promptly report issues or problems observed in the operational environment to operational Frontline managers along with recommended solution/s
Compliance
- Ensure knowledge of, and compliance with, all policies and procedures related to role, business, contractual and legislative requirements.
- Maintain currency of all qualifications, licenses and accreditations required for the role.
Professionalism and Customer Service
- Work collaboratively in the operational environment to help meet the learning and development needs of learners and to support their colleagues and managers.
- Proactively undertake professional development to continuously improve performance and expertise.
Qualification
Mandatory
- Cert IV in Training and Education or higher qualification in education or learning
- 2 years experience practicing as a Workplace Trainer/Assessor
Desirable
- Certificate II Transport Security Protection
Skills
- Intermediate Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
- High level of facilitation skills
Knowledge
- Learning theory, including adult learning principles and learning styles
- Learning and assessment methods and techniques
