Concierge Security Officer

POSITION PURPOSE
As a self-supervised Concierge Security Officer reporting to the onsite Client Facility Management Team, you will be responsible for managing access control, conducting regular patrols, responding to incidents, and providing security escorts for contractors and guests. You will also assist with security-related tasks such as handling CCTV footage requests and conducting floor checks, all in accordance with established procedures. This role emphasizes both corporate security and exceptional customer service.
You will play a key role in ensuring the safety of the site, maintaining the security of assets and infrastructure, and delivering a high level of service to the client and their representatives. Your professionalism and proactive approach will ensure that all security operations are conducted efficiently, helping to maintain a secure and welcoming environment for all stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Concierge
- Greet internal and external customers, sign in visitors.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to general inquiries – forward calls to relevant team members as appropriate.
- Book and manage hot desks through an online system.
- Assist with CCTV footage requests and conduct floor checks.
- Provide escorts for guests and contractors as needed.
- Ensure that only authorized individuals are granted access to the site.
- Provide regular updates to the client on the progress of service delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with FM team and their representatives.
- Foster a proactive, responsive, and productive work culture that delivers excellence in customer service.
- Effectively handle client complaints, ensuring all issues are analyzed, resolved, and recorded to a mutually satisfactory outcome.
- Proactively identify and recommend improvements to existing services or introduce new services aligned with company objectives.
- Write legible and informative incident reports, hazard reports, and shift logs.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Use the client’s software applications effectively.
- Always represent and promote the company’s values and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory:
- Current and valid VIC Security Licence.
- Certificate II in Security Operations.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Full working rights in Australia.
Desirable:
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Current CPR Certificate.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in a commercial/corporate environment (tenant or base building).
- Proven experience in incident management, including:
- Responding to fire alarm activations, ensuring swift action and coordination with relevant parties.
- Managing difficult persons, utilizing conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
- Handling access control breaches, ensuring site security and compliance with protocols.
- Coordinating with emergency services during critical incidents requiring external intervention.
- Ability to effectively monitor and manage security systems and emergency protocols.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clear and detailed reports on incidents, hazards, and security activities.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, exercising sound judgment and quick decision-making.
- Attention to detail when performing security patrols, checks, and documentation.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative when necessary to ensure site safety and security.
- Professionalism and reliability, consistently representing the company and adhering to all security policies and procedures.
