Retail Security Supervisor - Geelong

POSITION PURPOSE
As a Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the security operations at a retail site in Geelong. In this role, you will ensure the safety and security of the site, lead and manage a team of security personnel, and guarantee the seamless functioning of all security systems. This role is crucial for maintaining a secure and safe environment for both the client and their customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting and Investigations: Oversee the reporting and investigation processes for security-related incidents, ensuring thorough documentation and resolution.

Roster and Time Attendance Management: Efficiently manage the security team’s roster and time attendance, ensuring adequate coverage and adherence to rostering principles.

Auditing: Conduct regular audits of security procedures, protocols, and equipment to maintain compliance and effectiveness.

Training: Provide initial and ongoing training and development for security personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge in security operations for the site.

Client Liaison: Work closely with the client to understand their security needs and expectations. Collaborate with the client to ensure the smooth running of operations and address any concerns or issues promptly.

Attendance at Major Incidents: Respond to and manage major incidents as they occur, coordinating with relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure swift resolution.

Team Management and Leadership: Lead and motivate the security team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.

Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records across all required areas with precision and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory:

Current VIC Security Licence

Cert II in Security Operations

First Aid Certificate

Desirable:

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading and managing a team in a security or supervisory role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity.

Security Expertise: Strong knowledge of security protocols, procedures, and best practices in a retail environment.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to make quick and informed decisions under pressure and effectively resolve security issues.

Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and security personnel.

Roster & Time Management: Proficiency in managing rosters, time attendance systems, and ensuring adequate coverage for shifts.

Technical Competency: Familiarity with security technologies (CCTV, access control systems, alarm systems) and ability to ensure they operate efficiently.

Training & Development: Experience in providing training, coaching, and development to security teams, enhancing their skills in security operations.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records, incident reports, and logs.

Risk Management: Ability to assess and mitigate security risks, proactively identifying potential issues before they escalate.

Client Relations: Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their security needs, and meeting expectations.
