POSITION PURPOSE

 

As the Security Officer, reporting to the Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining safety and security across healthcare facilities for patients, staff, and visitors. The Security Officer ensures service delivery and operational security are maintained without delay or compromise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Monitor healthcare premises and ensure a safe environment
• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and effectively
• Manage access control and enforce visitor policies
• Provide high-level customer service with empathy and respect
• Maintain accurate incident reports and uphold confidentiality
• Collaborate with hospital staff to support patient care and security

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Mandatory:
• Current Victorian Security Licence (Certificate II minimum)
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage conflict and maintain professionalism under pressure
• Full working rights in Australia

 

Desirable:
• Previous experience in healthcare security or public service roles

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in security operations
  • Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies or workplace changes
  • Quick learning skills with the ability to apply new information on the job
  • A growth mindset and willingness to support team development
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage respectfully and clearly
  • A customer-focused approach, building positive relationships with patients, staff, and visitors
