Security Officer

POSITION PURPOSE
As a self-supervised Security Officer reporting to the onsite Client Facility Management Team, you will be responsible for managing access control, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, escorting contractors, and supporting on-site security operations in accordance with established procedures. This role emphasizes corporate security and customer service.
You will play a pivotal part in ensuring site safety, protecting assets, and delivering exceptional service to the client.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform duties aligned with skills, competence and training, demonstrating the ability to work independently or as part of a team under limited supervision.

Work from complex instructions and procedures while exercising discretion and sound judgment within scope of responsibility.

Utilise strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with team members, clients, contractors, and visitors.

Operate advanced computer systems for monitoring, data input, and management of site security operations, including spreadsheets and other specialised programs.

Provide on-the-job training and support to colleagues, assisting in their development and knowledge of security operations.

Support the site security operation by performing a wide range of tasks as required to maintain site safety, integrity, and client satisfaction.

Conduct contractor escorts as required.

Perform roving patrols to monitor premises and detect any suspicious activity.

Conduct random client credential checks to ensure compliance with security protocols.

Report incidents and provide detailed client reports in a timely and accurate manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory:

Current and valid VIC Security Licence

Certificate II in Security Operations
-
Current First Aid Certificate
- Full working rights in Australia
Desirable:

Current Driver's Licence

Current CPR Certificate

National Police Check

Bankruptcy Check

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Check
EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in security operations or similar roles highly regarded.

Strong adaptability to changing environments, tasks, and procedures.

Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.

Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in independent decision-making.

Strong computer literacy, including use of spreadsheets and monitoring systems.

Customer-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.

Commitment to safety and ability to follow and promote safety protocols.

Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a high-pressure environment.

Strong operational decision-making skills and attention to detail.

Professional grooming and presentation along with excellent interpersonal skills.
