Position Purpose

Cargo Screener (FIFO | Casual)

Certis Security Australia
Location: Karratha, Port Hedland, WA-Multiple Sites – FIFO Role
Job Type: Casual | 24/7 Rotating Roster | Shift lengths: 4–12 hours, Accomedation and Transport provide by Certis

Key Responsibilities

  • Cargo Freight Screening 
  • Operation of Cargo Screening Equipment including X-ray and ETD 
  • Recoding screening information accurately 
  • Shifts will be varied across a 7 day roster  
  • shift ranging from 4 to 12 hours 
  • Screening of Cargo 
  • Correct use of screening equipment 
  • Configuration of screening equipment 
  • Recording of screening information 
  • Understanding of SOP’s and EACE notice 
  • Working in a small team 

Qualification

What You’ll Need

Mandatory:

  • Valid Security Licence 

  • Current Driver’s Licence

  • Previous experience in cargo or passenger screening

Desirable:

  • Experience with X-ray and ETD equipment

  • Ability to work independently and in a team

  • Comfortable with rotating 24/7 shift schedules

Knowledge

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cargo screening equipment and its correct use, including X-ray machines, ETD, and other detection technologies.

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards for the screening of goods..

  • Familiarity with different screening levels and appropriate contingency procedures in response to alarms, system failures, or elevated threat levels.

Experience

  • At least 1 year screening 
  • 1 year in similar role
