Duties & Responsibilities
Role Purpose
To coordinate, monitor and support workplace safety and health activities across operational sites, ensuring compliance with applicable WSH requirements, organizational standards and operational safety expectations. The role supports risk management, incident management, safety assurance, stakeholder engagement, safety culture and continual improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Compliance & Risk Management
- Conduct and coordinate workplace safety inspections, audits, and management safety walks.
- Monitor safety findings and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Review risk assessments and safety controls to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
- Identify, assess, and escalate workplace hazards and safety risks.
- Support and coordinate management safety walks, PPE inspections, and joint safety inspections with external stakeholders.
Incident Management & Safety Performance - Manage incident, accident, hazard, and near-miss reporting processes.
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Monitor safety performance indicators, including KRIs, WICA statistics, and safety trends.
- Prepare safety reports, analyses, and recommendations for management.
Safety Programmes & Culture - Coordinate workplace safety initiatives, campaigns, and engagement programmes.
- Support the WSH Ambassador and Peer Support programmes.
- Conduct safety briefings and promote a proactive safety culture across the organisation.
- Develop safety communications and awareness materials.
Occupational Health & Regulatory Compliance - Oversee Occupational First Aid, PPE, audiometry, and workplace health programmes.
- Support radiation safety compliance and administration of the Radiation Protection Programme (RPP).
- Ensure compliance with applicable WSH legislation, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
- Prepare and present safety performance updates at internal and external meetings.
- Provide professional WSH advice and recommendations to management and operational teams.
- Liaise with regulators, clients, and external stakeholders, including Changi Airport Group (CAG).
- Track and follow up on safety action plans and governance matters.
Audit & Continuous Improvement - Support and coordinate external and internal audits, including BizSAFE Star, ISO 45001, and internal WSH audits.
- Conduct gap assessments, monitor audit findings, and ensure closure of corrective actions.
- Drive continual improvement of the Workplace Safety and Health Management System.
Skills & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Workplace Safety & Health, Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant Workplace Safety and Health experience, preferably in aviation, security, operations, facilities management, or related industries.
- Familiarity with Singapore WSH legislation, Workplace Injury Compensation Act (WICA), BizSAFE, and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret safety data, identify trends, and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Good understanding of risk management, safety governance, and continual improvement methodologies.
- Strong policy acumen and ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational practices.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the confidence to work with operational teams, management, regulators, and external partners.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives independently.
- A team player with a hands-on approach and willingness to take ownership of safety initiatives.
