Duties & Responsibilities

As a Master Data Management and Governance Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and governance of critical data assets within the organization. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires a strong understanding of data management principles, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across various departments to drive data governance initiatives forward.

  • Lead the Master Data Organisation in designing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Define Data Standards and Policies: Work with across the organization to establish data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity across all data assets.
  • Data Quality Management: Define data quality metrics and develop implementation strategies to improve data quality throughout its lifecycle.
  • Master Data Management (MDM): Lead the master data management team, including the creation, maintenance, and enrichment of master data records.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, operations, and compliance, to understand data requirements, address issues, and promote data governance best practices.
  • Data Stewardship: Define and Assign roles and responsibilities for data stewardship and establish processes for data stewardship activities, such as data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards. Identify and mitigate risks associated with data governance processes.
  • Training and Awareness: Create learning programs and Conduct training sessions and awareness programs to educate employees on data governance principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine data governance processes to adapt to evolving business needs and technological advancements.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (1-5 years) in data governance, master data management, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques. Experience with data governance software/platforms is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
