Position Purpose

Certis is seeking a dynamic and strategic Manager, Operational Intelligence to join our team at Sydney Airport. This role is pivotal in transforming data into actionable insights to enhance airport operations and customer experience. 

The Opportunity

The Manager, Operational Intelligence will integrate data from Certis systems, Sydney Airport platforms, and external sources into a unified intelligence platform. This role will ensure both Certis and Sydney Airport maximise the return on investment, while creating a new decision-making capability that enhances operational outcomes and delivers a superior customer experience for the airport community.

About You

  • Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, or related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience in data integration, business intelligence, and predictive analytics.
  • Skilled in analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python/R).
  • Experience in complex, safety-critical or operational environments (aviation, transport, security, critical infrastructure preferred).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Data Integration & Analytics

  • Aggregate data from Certis, Sydney Airport, and external sources into a unified intelligence layer.
  • Build and maintain live dashboards, reporting tools, and data pipelines that support contract delivery and client requirements.
  • Establish data governance practices to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance.

Real-Time Operational Intelligence

  • Provide live visibility of staffing, passenger flows, incidents, and asset utilisation.
  • Develop alerting systems to support proactive responses and reduce disruption.
  • Enable frontline supervisors and operational leaders to make timely, evidence-based decisions.

Predictive & Strategic Insights

  • Apply forecasting, anomaly detection, and trend analysis to anticipate risks, demand peaks, and workforce requirements.
  • Identify the real drivers of operational outcomes and propose targeted interventions to improve efficiency and delivery effectiveness.
  • Deliver predictive maintenance insights to reduce downtime and increase asset reliability.

Decision Support & Communication

  • Translate complex data into actionable insights tailored for different stakeholders: tactical for supervisors, operational for contract leaders, and strategic for Sydney Airport executives.
  • Support board-level and executive reporting with clear, evidence-based intelligence.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovation projects.

Customer & Contract Outcomes

  • Link operational data to customer experience outcomes such as queue times, Net Promoter Score, and retail dwell time.
  • Provide reporting and insights that demonstrate contractual performance and value delivery.
  • Build evidence to support collaboration with airlines, regulators, and Sydney Airport stakeholders.
